Family
Dr. Lastra was born and raised in Puerto Rico until the age of 10 at which time her family relocated to Florida. She is the oldest of 4, although frequently gets confused as the youngest.

Dr. Lastra met her husband, Rob, on the dance floor in 2012 and they married in 2016. Together they raise the cutest yet feistiest fur baby you'll ever meet, Chiqui. Chiqui is very studious and too smart for her own good!

Dr. Lastra loves to travel, learn about new cultures and explore new cuisines.
But most of all, Dr. Lastra loves salsa dancing! As Dr. Lastra likes to say- "I danced before I walked"
Dr. Lastra has been teaching salsa dancing for over 12 years. Throughout this time she has traveled around the world attending salsa congresses to learn from and dance with the best dancers. Currently Dr. Lastra and her husband teach salsa dancing in St. Petersburg, FL through Airbnb experiences. Most recently, Dr. Lastra and her husband hosted and taught at the virtual Zoom International Salsa Congress to help raise funds to obtain personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel during the coronavirus pandemic.

As a St. Petersburg resident, Dr. Lastra loves biking around the city to appreciate the local murals and dessert shops. Don't be surprise if you see her stroll up at your doorstep on her bike one day!
